This week's council budget saw the Liberal Democrats successfully propose that the council's staff bus would finally be fully adapted for disabled use. Councillors David Watkins and Paul Elgood have been working on a range of disability related issues for members of staff, many of whom have raised concerns over how the council deals with their specific needs.
David said: "It is very sad that the council has been forced to take this action to ensure all of the staff are treated equally and fairly. The Lib Dems acted on this and sorted this problem out for staff members when the council should have acted years ago."
Paul added: "It is truly terrible that the council did not offer all members of staff equality of access. We have forced the council to do this, but they really should have done it for themselves."
